There is some maintenance planned on the electrical feed that serves the Halfbakery machine room tomorrow, December 29th. 2005. So the Halfbakery and/or its network connection may be down for all or part of the day. Please don't be alarmed.

Addendum: Power to the machine room was indeed lost around 0600 EST, with service restored at about 1515 EST.

Well I am alarmed. Anyone who's lived through the crash of 2004 can't experience a day like this without feeling a hullaballoon in their throat.

       But thanks mab :)
phundug, Dec 29 2005

you think we can't go a day without hb?

you're right. well done mab and jutta et al

Wow, it's been more than a year since the great crash of ought four (that's what I'll call it when I tell my grandchildren about the early years of the prototypical world government). I still shudder when I remember it. Kinda sad really.

Damn I wish I'd seen this yesterday, I was alarmed!

Me too. I was far too productive today.
Shz, Dec 30 2005

What, you didn't just click refresh over and over?
Worldgineer, Dec 30 2005

I wore out a mouse doing just that. Thanks be to Jutta, Mab, and anybody else providing 'bakery support.
normzone, Dec 30 2005

Nah, I have a script do it for me.
Shz, Dec 30 2005

Heh. I wrote a script like that once, refreshing the HB page every minute to make sure I don't miss any new annos. I offered it up to any of the 'bakers that might want it, until [jutta] sent a polite e-mail pointing out the extra load on the servers if too many people started using it.
Worldgineer, Dec 30 2005

Hell, I think I read that script (link).
normzone, Dec 30 2005

Who are you, [mab]? You were one of the first 'bakers, but I haven't seen much of you at all. Yours is the first remaining non-jutta idea on the 'bakery.

       Thanks for the warning.

       He da man.
bristolz, Dec 30 2005

       Offensive Pun!

       Man, this idea sucks!

There's no innovative step at all! It's a rubbish plan.

What kind of idea is this?

       [mfd] rant, etc...

I've allways wanted to do that! - Happy New Year Bakers
