A microwave oven that stops the rotation at the same position it started.
Either:
Change the rotation speed
or preferably,
prolong the rotation past the cooking time as necessary ( during the finishing beeping ?).
The microwave could add a position sensor or assume a motor speed. The second
option would necessitate involving a method for modifying the setting during initial operation of the microwave or during a later tuning operation.

Even though I’ve owned ovens with this feature, you can get it WITHOUT shopping for a specific model. Just time how long it takes your turntable to spin once (usually it’s 10 seconds). Then set the cook time for a multiple of that number. |

Hmm... in my experience, it's always been 12 seconds.
But yes, "boomerang" turntables have been around since at least the 1990's. |

This! You're microwave will have a motor driven by the 50/60Hz motor, this will then be geared at some ratio. My home microwave I set in multiples of 8 seconds, the one at work 12 seconds. |

Did these things disappear from the marketplace? I remember them, [xaviergisz] dug up an old advert - but it doesn't seem to be a feature anymore (at least not an advertised one), Maybe that's why people keep suggesting it (here and on other idea forums) and think it's a NEW idea. |
