Nowadays the big burger companies usually patent their burger recipes and the ingredients are usually secret, this idea is to create a burger recipe that any restaurant or person could make and modify their own burger recipe, this also could be done with others kinds of food as well, like fried chicken.

In what way are the ingredients of a Big Mac secret? And if they are secret, what's the point in patenting them? And there are things such as cookbooks available.

I have never tried, but I would really like to think that, if push came to shove, I could work out how to assemble a decent burger myself.

What seems to matter is not the recipe, but the image and the advertising, and the huge supply-chain.

*The Secret Ingredients are usually the things they don't want you to know you are eating- like sawdust!

The concept of a basic burger system that can be purchased and then have aftermarket add-ons from third parties installed is intriguing.
