Pick The Pocket is the name given to a new amusement arcade game. It works on the same principle as those glass enclosed machines where you manoeuvre a mechanical grab into place and try to pick up an object of value.

The difference here is that instead of the grab, there is a mechanical hand which you must control using the same very basic controls of left, right, forwards, backwards, lower, grip, raise. The other difference is that there is a pocket into which you must lower the hand to try and steal an item by closing the fingers and thumb on it and lifting it out. To prevent this being easily achieved, the pocket has sensors which cause an alarm to sound if the hand is detected at any stage of its journey of theft, so careful delicate control is required.

The Finders Keepers rewards are easier to get by trying to pick up one of the items on the floor of the machine, but every game also contains the big win trouser pocket holding a protruding wallet stuffed with cash, which is a real challenge as it can slip from the grasp very easily and is also hard to pull out.

I think you could simplify this by just having the prize in a pocket with all the sensors you described and you try to get it out with your fingers, perhaps in a rubber glove preventing people from using some kind of tool.

Glass enclosure, sensor-loaded fake pockets? Just build a concealed waldo that can pop out of some disguised fixture (lamppost, fire hydrant) and try to pick the pockets of real people walking by.

If you've tried those primitive crane grabbers, you understand why professional crane operators are the only ones using those expensive cell phones. To be fair to everyone, the grabber would have to be haptically realistic, even if the crane swing and drop was still about 2 inches wide.
