The Bangalore Torpedo is a pole-shaped explosive charge that is weaseled into barbed wire coils to create access through the obstacle.
The SOB is a long rolled hose filled alternately with explosives, tear gas, or other irritant. It is installed inside the barbed wire coils and the individual 1-meter
sections are fused electrically from a remote controller or set to detonate by proximity, magnetism, or motion.
The live sections are spaced so that they will not detonate adjoining sections. The mix of aggressive and defensive loads in the sections can be tailored to local requirements. The SOB comes in rolls like black plastic irrigation hosing, and can be cut to length on site. Arming is done electrically at any of the contact points in the empty, spacing sections.
In time, just the appearance of cheap black plastic pipe decoys anywhere will slow down an advance.

My immediate thought was "[8th] would love this", so this gets a croissant. |

{Yes, I do know. The remote detonation can only proceed from the bitter end.} |

But seriously, sounds like rigs Priestly Demolition uses to vaporize single buildings for urban renewal. Applications also for 'accidental fire/gas explosion' where home mortgages are under water. |
