Annotation:

As "suits of swing", they ought also to be very broad-shouldered, of somewhat garish color and flair, and include a thin white tie. Zoot, if you will.

How will you prevent friction between your pendula and your person? Gantries spring to mind, but might bring their own problems.

       [gt] perfect. I like it.

[xand] Our coats would make a perfect couple. And the noise they'd make when they held each other!

[pert] I was thinking of them swinging around another axis. The shaft would stick straight out from the coat, and the pendulum would rotate at the tip. Making the shafts very short would make it easier to, say, sit down in but would result in more coat collisions that would dampen the effect. Making the shafts long would be ideal from an effect standpoint but might be less practical. There's a happy medium in there somewhere.

glorified tassles. go-go dancers do this all the time without the physics.

Link us a video, [k_sra], will you?

not my bag, baby. you'll have to pay for it yourself. How about a suit with pendulums that swing when you aren't walking, thus making you appear to be swaying sightly from side to side. You could knock other pedestrians right off their feet if they stared at you long enough.

Hello [k_sra], long time no bake.

And then the man he steps right up to the microphone
And says at last just as the time bell rings
thank you goodnight now its time to go home
And he makes it fast with one more thing
we are the suits of swing...

       Hi [waggles]. = )

       (not baking, just 'tating)

Ha - no one has called me that for twenty years!

I had no idea you two went back so far.

Hm, rigid low-friction go-go dancer tassles... Nah, you'll put an eye out.
Worldgineer, Jul 31 2007

//prevent friction between your pendula// I worry about this. well, actually it makes me smirk...

I have a tool belt of swing. It hurts.

The Ponytail resonance warning might be useful for that.
