A collar similar too an invisible fence collar used for dogs that people wear to get rid of swearing habits. This would work on a similar method to voice recognition software. When someone utters any swear word the collar delivers a shock from the range of annoying to painful (and potentially cause further swearing).

//When someone utters any swear word the collar delivers a shock//

So what's to stop onlookers swearing to set it off?
Germanicus, Sep 26 2008

The collar will be calibrated to the wearer's voice.

I'd have bunned this for cessation of a bad habit, but as you've tagged it for sadistic entertainment, fcuk you.

edit: that's the funniest typo I've made in a long time, because it's fitting and humors me I'm leaving it.

//anything you need to fear or avoid// Don't you think that selfish, aggressive demands for attention are something to avoid? (Granted, I swear, but I'm not proud of it).

There's a (probably apocryphal) story about somebody demo'ing a computer speech interface at a convention back in the '80s. After giving a quick blurb on all the wonders of the new program, our hapless marketer turned the machine on and after the command prompt came up, the audience as one voice shouted "Format C colon".

"Holy shit, this thing just shocked me!"

You'd also have to be careful not to say bass, shitake, shuttlecock, or many Japanese words.

There's probably a real market for sexual aids that react in such way, or in some way, anyway.
