There are certain types of packaging that drive everyone mad trying to get them open. This has resulted in the creation of a small robotic figure whos primary function is to entertain his new owner by escaping from the packaging in which hes contained. ("he" can be a "she" of course)
Tear-Outa-Saw-Rex
comes in one of those encapsulating plastic containers that practically requires a bandsaw to open. This is no problem for Tear-Outa-Saw-Rexs because once switched on via the phone controlled app, he tears his way out by of his confines by wielding a miniature electric chain saw.
When being ordered, a variety of escape tools are offered so that Tear-Outa-Saw-Rex arrives as a fully customised figure. The chainsaw is popular, but he can also slash his way out with a serrated machete or even burn his way out with a welding torch (this one comes with a small fire extinguisher and other precautionary warnings)
In all cases Tear-outa-saw-rex destroys his packaging from within, explosively bursting into the outside world. He doesnt do much more than that, so for more entertainment after his dramatic initial escape, you can simply place him in another box or bag or wrapping then activate a repeat performance. Tear-Outa-Saw-Rex is powerful and not a toy. Hes made of metal with scaled down hydraulics, electric motors and a rechargeable battery.
Delux Tear-Outa-Saw-Rex features an extended range of angry vocalisations to add to the noises of shredding and tearing.

As a quality assurance professional often tasked with figuring out "what the hell happened?", I have investigated some interesting events in the packaging and delivery world. |

This is only going to add to that. But I'm between employers at the moment, so bring it on. |

This idea originated when a good friend gave me a novelty figure of Edison holding a lightbulb, which lights up at night (his back has a solar cell built into it) This figure is made by Kikkerland and comes in an easily opened plastic container. Naturally I modified the lightbulb to become a hand-grenade and altered the text to show instructions for how to get the figure to detonate the device, thereby enabling its explosive release, but also total self destruction. (with appropriate dire warnings) |

"... and that is why, when we want to show a cartoon character having an idea, we draw them with a little grenade above their head. " |
