       You would have to fold the top of the blanket back, to avoid the cold shoulder.

       I'm awed beyond the ability of one + vote to express with how simple and cool (no pun intended) this idea is!   

       So would the blanket just something like a sort of brigantine of chunky Peltier modules with lots or wires running to them, sandwiched in crinkly Mylar, or to somehow make the whole thing flexible and homogenous?   

       A side application would be that, removing the power supply, you could use one rolled into a sleeping bag as a generator to charge your small electronics using your body heat – quite the boon for outdoors folk with a need for ever present radio and IT connectedness.

       There doesn't seem to be a soft, furry material for Peltiers, so I'd go with a large number of extremely small disks, say 1cm area - sequins really - covered with a fabric just thick enough to keep the little disks from being noticeable.
