Things that have personalities and shouldn't

The game where you poke fun at anthropomorphism

Are you tired of inanimate objects bossing you around, telling you what to do, where to go, and what to buy on tv? Me neither. But just to pass the time let's give them all unwarranted bad reputations. If wealthy companies can impose good characteristics on their cartoon spokespeople, spokesanimals, spokesplants, spokesobjects, and spokeswhatnot, why can't we, the consumers, impose negative characteristics on them?

The object of the game is to give the antropomorphic characters more scandalous personality flaws than the other person.

ex; Dr. Pepper facing a malpractice charge

Tony the Tiger being sued for sexual harassment

Mr. Peanut being caught selling drugs to kids

The Kool-Aid Man having a criminal record

The possibilities are endless!

muffin - quite innocent of all charges. http://www.bigwood....in%20the%20mule.JPG
he does seem to be downloading quite a lot of string though, metaphorically speaking. [po, Feb 25 2006]

hey, I get really pissed off at that woman from BT who says "the number you have dialled has not been recognised..." or " please hang up and try again..."

I think the more interesting idea is *giving* personalities to things that should never have had them. But Douglas Adams took care of that one. [My PC is currently cowering in fear under the desk, while the printer is chasing the cat around the living room.]

       Sorry, can't help myself...
You didn't say we couldn't form a list if we just listed a post by another lister. That's _not_a_list, right?

I wonder if you could make a case for slandering a fictional character?

Say if Ceral X ran a spot portraying Sonny? the Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs character as REALLY cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs (crack ho like).

That would probably damage the sales of the product noticeably. Could Kellogs (or Post - I don't know which) sue for damages?

I guess they couldn't directly use the actual character due to trademark infringements, but the point could easily be made by altering things enough.

"Me neither" means that you are not tired of it.

So this is advocating anti anthropomorphisation arianism?

Damn, I had to break that up. Kinda loses the effect.

I was listing to starboard until I came into port. And yes, I'd love a glass.
wagster, Feb 27 2006

Psychoanalyze inanimate objects? Not me! You want to see something get really pissed off?
reensure, Feb 27 2006

I'm not sure. My TV is a lot calmer since I had a nice long chat with it.
