... small to medium-sized rechargeable faux-furballs which can be placed anywhere in the house or on the property; when approached they emit the patented annoyed-Tribble yell.

       I don't want them communicating with each other... I want them rearing up and shrieking and scaring the crap out of anything that walks across my lawn at 3am.

       "3am and all's quiet in the dark.... a piercing warble breaks the silence then another and yet another.... suddenly a gaggle of oddly dressed people run out of the yard and down the street cursing violently in Klingon."

       //Tribble yell// - famously sung about by Billy Idol.

       [zt] THANKYOU (lol); I had that running through my head all day yesterday and couldn't place it.

       I agree with [21] - a lot like all those Furby-things.

       Oi! Watch who you're calling simple!

       //Furby// bah.
Tribbles predate Furby's by over 31 years *and* (the clincher) natively have useful sounds. Perhaps the alarms could chortle softly occasionally just to make sure they're still in working order.
