Vote By Throwing Stones or Roses Instead of Bones or Buns

More like what happens in the real world.

First: I like the buns and bones because it's quirky and original and know they won't be changed. So why am I putting this up? Sucker for punishment I guess.

Replacing the bone with a stone and a bun with a rose would invoke pictures of people getting stones or roses thrown at them, more like what happens in real life and in keeping with long and dignified traditions eh?

Of course people like their buns and bones so the user could elect to customize their own personal graphics to their tastes. I'm sure the owner of this site would love the extra work required.

Bones are made of a variety of apatite, so in a way they're already stones, and you could imagine the croissants are made using rosewater. In fact, i might even try that (though it'd be a recipe).

See? To those who hate this idea, wouldn't you rather throw a rock?

Actually that seems kind of mean. Here, I'll bone this idea too.

That doctorremulac3 guy wants to mess with tradition! Let's get em!

In my eternal quest to become a martyr I'm supporting this idea.

Ok, I'll change my vote to pro but subject to how the crowd moves on this.

       Not enough! Must have a script that s/croissant/rose/; s/bun/bouquet/; s/pastry/floral tribute/ ....

A bone from max? Boy, you could have knocked me down with a feather.
doctorremulac3, Oct 17 2010

Nothing personal. It's just that I like the quirkiness of buns and bones. (Actually, I just realized that I forgot to deposit my bone. But now you mention it....sorry.)

Well, as I stated, I agree, but sometimes it's fun to shoot an idea out there like a clay pigeon.

You throw up your own idea as a clay pigeon. [+] Then, boned it? [-] Or did you? [ ] What?

Actually, all ideas posted at the HB could be considered clay pigeons, I think. You post an idea, and someone says, "Pull!" (Who the hell is that, anyway?)

The great thing about the croissant/fish combination is the smell/taste association. Now you could have cake/dog poo as an alternative, but why change such a successful icon combo?
xenzag, Oct 18 2010

Maybe the bakesperson will share with us the inspiration that was behind the fishbone/croissant icons.

Did stage performers ever get stones? Jeez, tough crowd.

       //whatever happened to Inspiral Carpets?//

Still touring. Saw them a couple of years ago.

//More like what happens in the real world.//

There's already more than enough real world to go round. I don't think that we need any more of it, frankly.

//the bun was bakery fodder //

Yeah. If we adopted the new scheme, the site would become the Halfstonery.

       Actually....
MaxwellBuchanan, Oct 18 2010

Hey, I forgot about this. How come it's not showing up on the Halfbakery list when I open it? I had to use the search window to find it.

       Testing one two three.
