Water Gate - Traffic control system

In some countries, there is a total disregard of traffic laws.

One such example is vietnam, where obeying traffic lights is the exception, not the norm.

Well the solution for certain trouble spots, is this water gate idea.

Essentially, when the traffic light signals red, a steady stream of water is sent across the road to deter motorist from running the light, lest they get soaked wet.

If water wastage is a issue, then install laser sensor to squirt only when motorist pass it.

Suitable for fully enclosed, indeed, armored vehicles. http://www.youtube....watch?v=rAH0M9KP6H4

       Perhaps turn the entire junction into a lake, and instead of lights, have a rotating turntable bridge in the middle.

       Well it would certainly deter someone driving a paper car.

       // example is vietnam //

       Not the only "Third World" country with this problem; wales and france are the same.

       // a steady stream of water is sent across the road to deter motorist from running the light //

       Ummm ... car ... fully-enclosed passenger vehicle. This idea is effortllesly defeated by a technique called "closing the windows".

       Would work against scooter and motorbike riders. Oooh, and cyclists ! YES ! YES !

       — mouseposture : That will certainly deter motorist from driving on the road period. But I can imagine some dictator would love this idea though.

       The whole premise of this idea raises some rather interesting, philosophical & political points that would be completely off-topic, so I'm not going to tell you what they are, so there! Fishy from me.
