No matter how old you are, there are always foods you don't like. However, as one gets older, one's tastes become wider, meaning at some point you start to like food you previously hated.

Yucky Food Day is, quite simply, a day to try foods you've previously avoided. Kids can try various fruits and vegetables. Adults may opt for more exotic foods, like sushi, calamari, or some of the various bug-based dishes.

Communities could get into the spirit with kiosks selling/sampling such foodstuffs.

       Who avoids calamari?

I've already tried most things, but I suppose there's always witchetygrubs. Alright, I'm in.

Witchety grubs taste like chicken. I tried a few at a fete once. Quite nice, but I wouldn't have them all the time.

Why is this under "holiday" when children would HATE it?
phundug, May 29 2005

Everyone would go out to eat and I'd stay home oblivious, that would make it a holiday.
