ZEPs

"Feed me more candy!"

Kids have so much fun feeding candy into the big hinged heads of ZEPs that they end up eating less of the sugary stuff themselves. They love the way the cartoony heads of assorted ravenous fat kids and unquenchable obese creatures ingest the sacrificial candy with the disgusting motion and sounds of mastication, and hideous screams for more food. Slide the food collector tray out of the handle/body to empty the sweet bolus into trash. Moms love ZEPs because kids learn not to be a Bottomless Bobby, or a Gorgin' George. The kids are so busy running around the house looking for candy to stuff in their ZEPs that there's less of it around to tempt mom. It's also a great way to use up those odd leftover sweets from Halloween and Easter that nobody wants to touch.

I suspect there would be much emulation of ZEPs, and fat kids nicknamed ZEP, and speech in the tones of the favorite ZEP.

The Looney Tunes' Taz is their most popular character even though he's not truly aspirational to kids. To some extent, so is Marvin the Martian. I think they are anti-villains.

so, what does it stand for?

I'm confused - it sounds like they already exist from wombat's annotation but it sounds like he is proposing them in the idea? Can you explain more for me please?

       Pez backwards. In all respects.

You don't explain how the candy gets from the Zep to the bin without tempting Mom.

[dobtabulous] ZEPs don't exist, but the idea is presented as if it did. I like when some submissions on the HB are in the form of a faux ad, or news item, or testimonial when appropriate for the idea presentation. It adds reality. It's a nice change from "what if..." and "there should be...", or "I propose..."

[DrC] I figured a chewed up wad of M&Ms and Milky Ways with some Red Vines thrown in is less tempting than fresh, attractively wrapped candies sitting in a bowl on the coffee table.
