All of the advertising hype these days is about how far the ball can travel. What about a ball that is guaranteed to go no further than 100 yards. Think of the possibilities, no lost balls, an even "playing field", the beast coming out in all of us (who can get it to go 120 yards), the new hazards that come into play.

Wiffle Golf Balls http://www.leaguedi...SearchDex/29500.htm
Well baked and used in backyards everywhere. [Worldgineer, Oct 17 2004, last modified Oct 21 2004]

I'll give it a point. Apparently, course designers are tearing their hair out because of the new ball and club designs (and stronger players) that are ripping up their courses. Instead of having to drop the ball right before the sand trap and then play the green, golfers now can power past the trap, for instance.

I can envision new "micro-courses" for built up areas - super short holes, but you're on your honor to use short-flight balls. Science knows what makes a ball go farther, they could easilly make it go shorter too.

I suggest using spare cannon balls. That should achieve the effect you desire.

Squash balls are roughly the same size as golf balls - I should think those would do the trick.

[xxlmuscles] Been there, done that. I apparently pulled one of your short distance balls out of the ole golf bag this past Sunday. No worries about me disclosing your invention to the public. I promptly sent it to a watery grave.
