Elastic Foot Bands

Goes Around the Ball of Your Foot
  [vote for,

I don't like wearing shoes. Hot ground and pointy stuff still hurts my feet. So I would like to wear as little shoe as possible.
Picture a pair of elastic socks that only go around the balls of your feet. They could have some grippy, foot protecting stuff on the bottom.
Then you would wear them. Hooray!

SweetSpots http://shop.store.y...tore/20swe0001.html
The 'sole' side, not seen, is narrow while the topside is wide. flyfast could wear these 'upside down'. [Tiger Lily, Oct 04 2004, last modified Oct 06 2004]

       No heels?

       no heels.

Youth soccer (futbol) players wear something very much like this over their shoe's laces for ball control, while also gaining a scant bit more arch support. I've only seen them marketed under the name SweetSpots.

Basically, these are fanciful cross sections of innertubing, but in prettier colors.

So this would be like a wide rubber band around the front of your foot, and your heel fends for itself. Original, at least. I bet some folks would wear it.

Who does? They are uncomfortable bastards, especially for us girls. I had to attend a (boring) cocktail party last night and high heels are pretty much mandatory for us in that sort of events.

I took my shoes off an hour and a half after I got there. Yes, a lack of style and civilized behaviour maybe, but I enjoyed the rest of the night.

ah, dancing in stockinged feet is so sensual..

Especially if you are wearing over the calf white basketball socks.

I thought this was a really poor way of measuring 12 inches.

This is just a cut-off thong (flipflop), surely?
DrCurry, Dec 01 2003

After a sweaty day's wear, when I remove these (and wring them out if they are absorbent) will they have enough springiness left to allow me to fire them at my Wife's head when she least expects it? If so then you have my vote.

Answer - shave foot, apply duct tape, repeat as necessary. Granted the tape would collect dirt and grime after a while, but its not tough to reapply. You could also go with different colord duct tape for special occasions. -- OR layer the tape, and peel-off a new layer as the previous one becomes disgusting.

Socks optional. May be appropriate for business affairs, or cold weather wear
