Magnetic bottles

Apologies for category, there is no Product:Bottle category.

Right, now all this faffing about by the CERN LHC wallahs, I suggest a magnetic bottle could be made from adding iron filings into the glass when it is molten, then magnetising the iron as it cools down.

In this way, many bottles could be linked by pipes and so make a particle collider. This is version one.

Version two is one very large magnetic bottle blown in the shape of one of them Klein bottles, so the Higgs Bosons can collide with themselves, and leave all the other particles out of it.

I rest my case.

On another point, if it were possible to embed coils of wire into the walls of bottles of tomato sauce, to propel out the last bit of sauce?

I'm guessing this is what caused the glitch on the LHC, as holding up a 27-kilometre ring and whacking it with your hand is bound to cause problems.

I think if you create a Higgs' boson in a Klein bottle, the universe will probably implode outwards.

You type that like it's a bad thing?

I never really got the klien bottle meme/joke. Yes the internal space relates with itself in a mathematically interesting way but that's the long and the short of it. Implications that this has any real-world effect are prima facia wrong. It's as stupid as the "turn 360 degree and walk away" meme: very mildly amusing at first then quickly tedious, then just annoying.

It's impossible to levitate something using only permanent magnets. You need a fixed support, electromagnets, superconductors or something else to damp the vibrations you'd get.

Strictly speaking, this ain't levitation, just a series of permanent magnets in a circle around a particle...

Not for food. Unless Higgs Bosons turn out to be bacon-flavoured...

Thinking about it, there must be a way to magnetise poop, just not quite sure of the applications. Useful in finding North in an emergency...
