I think it would be more amusing to have a musical accompaniment to get played in the background when you are reading a post.

To this end, install the browser plug-in, place the mouse over the croissant, press F2 and scroll down the list.

What could be better than a tinkly midi rendition of Wagner, Beethoven, or the clown music from Laurel and Hardy of the HB member of your choice?

The latter will I suspect be the background sound for most of my ideas..

(minor quibble, just above "Halfbakery" on the Category list is "Food:Water")

The Krankies http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Krankies
"comedy duo that enjoyed success as a cabaret act" I beg to differ. [not_morrison_rm, Oct 22 2013]

Writers of websites that play sound without the user's express consent should be slowly eviscerated with a rusty spork.

[-] I wouldn't actually notice since the sounds is off 99% of the time, but why waste the bandwidth.

Better to display a vocal score scrolling along the top of the page so you can sing along as you read. Have we not discussed this before?

We have? Anyway, the idea can be extended to google glass, with face recognition everything said by [insert name of politician] can be accompanied by The Lying Game music...and soone.

What [Voice] said, with additional gratuitous cruelty.

Not that I'm planning on doing the field research, but presumably a sharp stick would be more effective?
not_morrison_rm, Oct 20 2013

Indeed, a perfect adjunct to the aforementioned "additional gratuitous cruelty".

Well, there is one bit in the System of the World where Newton sticks a metal rod between his eye and the eye socket, to see what effect deformation of the eyeball has on vision. Not exactly on my to do list.

//I think it would be more amusing// than?

I can think of an infinite number of things it would be more amusing than, for example the 1980's, any Cannon and Ball "comedy" routine, the Black Death, processed cheese. Need I go on?
not_morrison_rm, Oct 20 2013

You don't *need* to go on...but you may.

I'm saving mentioning the Krankies for a much more important debate.

       Damn.

Ok, might as well put the link in...

NB just found out that Eddie Large has recovered from his fall and the subsequent pneumonia, of which we are all very glad, of course. C link.
