Relationship-O-Meter

Baffled by your partner's mood swings? Let's level the playing field

The Relationship-O-Meter is a simple dial indicator that each partner wears around his/her neck and continually adjusts to display their current attitude toward the other partner.

Settings would range from "Can't Stand The Sight Of You" to "Let Me Be Your Love Slave." This would allow each partner to effortlessly assess the other's mood without risking embarrassment, disillusionment, disenfranchisement, or dismemberment.

Baked years ago, evidently. Look at the first picture. [StarChaser, Jul 26 2000, last modified Oct 05 2004]

That's a great idea! How about an extension of this for bedtime - 'in the mood for sex tonight' / 'not in the mood for sex tonight'. If it is set to 'not in the mood for sex tonight' then you can stay up and play the playstation / have a beer instead of going to bed.

A brilliant idea. Perhaps the delux model should include a No means Yes setting and the No means NO! setting.

Great idea- but what's wet cement got to do with it?

Wouldn't this kill all the fun and excitement of a relationship? I'm fishboning this one.

[marked–oops.] Yet another magic mind reading device.
Or that's what I thought before being reminded that it isn't. Sorry for the confusion, and thanks for catching this.

[Jutta] I thought it was a mind reading idea at first, but I think each person sets the attitude pointer themselves.

seems to me like a cool idea! Make sure that it doesn't become manipulative... It's easy to turn the dial to a point that you can use to get something done :) I can see women all with their dial on 'only slightly interested'

Guys never have a clue as to what is going on. Gals know guy's inner most thoughts and feelings before they do.

I just don't see this device as having any hope of changing the situation. And it could do some real harm.

Thermometer, blood pressure, skin conductivity are based on some science. But this is not.
