Ever find yourself smacking your alarm clock for interrupting a really nice dream? The one with Christina Ricci and whipped cream?
Sadly, many alarm clocks are ill-suited to such use, either breaking after a few bashes or being painful to whack. The obvious soloution is an alarm clock composed
almost entirely of foam rubber, with delicate electronics in a protected sphere deep within the clock. Creating a display for it might prove to be a challence, but should be easy enough with flexible fibre-optics to carry the light from the LEDS to the face of the clock.

pastry - my alarm clock doesnt go off at the right time anymore due to me hitting it hard because its one of those sound sensitive ones but the mike only responds to being hit. |

threw the clock across the room it broke... this way it
would just bounce. Cool! |

Now that I think about it, the clock's power cord should feature a quick-release coupling, so that the cord will simply part when the clock is awatted across the room, rather than risk bending one of the tines of the plug. |

How about a battery-powered model, possibly a rechargeable one, thus eliminating the cord problems? |

Here it is a couple years later, and I was just thinking how it might be nice to have an alarm clock that was designed to survive being smashed. MORE, it is INTENDED to be smashed. The
"alarm" for this clock is actually a recording of your spouse's/parent's most nagging phrases! "What are you doing still in bed?!" --and so forth. |

If anyone thinks that such a variant can stand as its own Idea here, I'll post it that way. For now, though, an annotation to this already exising Idea seems proper. |

How about a squishy alarm clock that you put into your pajama bottoms before going to sleep? It's also motion sensitive, so you have to really shake around to get it to shut up. By then, you're awake. |
