Asteroid bomb

Capture small asteroids into an elliptical earth orbit for later use as a kinetic energy weapon.
  [vote for,

Inspired by the idea “Hypervelocity Kinetic Bomb”.

Suitable candidate asteroids could be located using earth based radar. Rockets would then be sent to nudge their trajectory such that they fall into a highly elliptical earth orbit. An elliptical orbit would minimize the amount of energy needed to modify the orbit for a collision.

No they didn't - *I* did. I never should have shown them how to use it. Damn time machine.

No need to use asteroids - plenty of rocks available on the moon.

This annotation inspired by Robert Heinlein's "The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress"
