If bimetallic fibres were woven into fabric so that cloth flattens at slightly above room temperature then clothes would straighten and flatten themselves out once taken from a hot dryer and separated.

It's the precursor to self-folding clothes, but ya gotta start somewhere.

Use nitinol wires, with the "set" point at approximately skin temp. So it doesn't matter how you store them after washing, they'll go crisp & perfect once you put them on.

       That could be good too.

Nice find [xav]. I looked and all I could find was Memory Velcro. [link]

In cooler weather would they curl you up into a croissant?

//clothes would straighten and flatten themselves out// Why would anyone want that? "crumpled is the new smart" etc.

This is a completely halfbaked idea - therefore it's approved and a croissant fragment awarded.

//self ironing// reminds me of when I was a child, having to iron my boy-scouts uniform and especially the colourful scarf, before putting it on to go to the boy-scouts meeting. I remember thinking it would be neater if I ironed it after putting it on. I burned my chin with the iron trying to iron the scarf.

[pocmloc]; trying to iron yourself - you could get burned AND scalded at the same time!

Well I used to iron my hair when I was 14 because I wanted it to be perfectly straight!

I don’t have a clothes dryer, but I like the idea.
