How about a chair activated laser that fires at the ceiling when I sit down? It would be my own BatSign letting the world know I'm at my desk.

I'm in a cube farm at a company that shys away from phone calls and instant messenger instead leaning toward face-to-face (yes, dreaded face-to-face) contact.
