It might be better to just get another gerbil.

Underpants Springs

Full body underwear spring exoskeleton

This is a spring scaffolding for the body. It could be set to a strength that aids movement against gravity but will not prevent crouching. Like an exoskeleton but with no moving parts. Maybe just two springs, clockwise and counterclockwise, one for each side of the body. Springs would coil once around each joint: ankle, knee, waist, shoulder, elbow, wrist, so that the user could unwrap quickly. Super strong versions for combat, or weak versions for housework.

Sounds rather difficult to implement. The arms won't maintain the same orientation with respect to gravity.

You might be able to get a way with doing the legs, provided the wearer is not doing anything too complex. If you compleatly offset gravity for the legs, the wearer works that much harder to crouch, which his/her muscles are not set up to do as effeciently.

The best effort in this direction I have seen is a very large frame which allows the rider to run at great speed, with relatively little effort. The prototype used only weights and springs, no motors. **springwalker -- it's been mentioned here before**

In combat, the wearer's agility and ability to maintain a low profile are compromised. For a home user, what happens when you want to sit down?

Nice title though. keeping the theme of underwear, perhaps a pneumatic system running through ribbed long johns?

Maybe it could be a fishbone shaped spine with curley ribs wraping around the apendages.

two springs of opposite handedness so that each spring could wrap aroud an arm and leg on one half of your body.
