Weekly top ten

Seeing as how it will always be increasingly difficult for an idea to hit the top ten, I thought it might be interesting to publish a weekly top ten: top ten ideas posted within the past week. We all get our sense of self-worth from how high our ideas go, so we could use this to decide whether to go on living or not.

I think a month back vote count is reasonable without needing the title "of the week" or "of the month" [gamb, Oct 04 2004, last modified Oct 05 2004]

or maybe we could have a secret ballot and vote for the halfbaker of the month based on ideas and annotations!!!!!

       nah.

Just look into a mirror and say "I'm good enough, I'm smart enough....and doggone it, people like me". That should help with your self-esteem issue. ;-)

The self-worth thing was a joke, of course, but I really would be interested in a list of the latest and greatest ideas.

This one belongs in the oven. Shut the door and forget it! as Popiel says.

"Half" the fun of this site is browsing thru. If there were a 10 list, most people would just go there and stop there.

But in respect to the "half" idea, would it be a list of 5?

actually, jutta has said that, according to the logs, most people who just stop in here wouldn't even get as far as the top ten. I could live with it, but I'm also doing quite well without it, so, whatever. :)

*weekly* top ten? Hell boy, I can remember when there weren't ten ideas posted in a week full stop. The debate about whether to have a top ten at all kept us occupied for weeks on it's own.

As a newbie I have wondered whether garlic-and-paprika-dipped (ie seasoned, haha) Halfbakers have notice the rate of idea and annotation posting accelerating. The good Doctor's annotation seems to indicate this is so...

A compulsive obsessive and someone with a form of literary Turette's syndrome...yes, these are my kind of people.

The quantity of ideas posted doesn't bother me, as such. Just so long as there are enough that make me want to log on and add a comment.

Oh and waugs? <pedant> Surely you mean 'subjective'?<end pedant>. And you're right of course. If the top ten were an objective list, then it would be packed full of my ideas.

Shirley Waugsqueke? Sounds like a cool name to me.
