Every year there are a number of large outdoor music concerts, which are inevitably subjected to a variety of inclement weather conditions.

Glastonbury in particular has a reputation for turning into a mudfest, which must at some level be a miserable experience for the thousands of fans standing around in the pouring rain. Umbrellas are not really a good option as they block the view of those behind. Parkas and other waterproof clothing are just not cool for the modern "hoodie favouring" youth. What is needed is a garment that combines some of the features of a tent, with the wearability, style and comfort of a hoodie.

This is the rationale behind the Robinhoodie. The conventional hood has been replaced with a small tent that is supported from within by fold away flexing arms, and equiped with storm flaps that can be pulled across the face for protection and privacy. See illustration for greater clarity (- shown with optional flags)

I don't think I'd wear this. With people looking at me I'd feel apprehensive and a little tents.

Could have been the name of some superhero/villain (depending on standpoint), who steals from the rich and gives to the chavs.

Bun for the outlandish flags on the illustration hoodie.

how about a couple of flaps that come down from the hem to protect your legs?

Sales will rise if tent contains two hoodys. Two persons per tent will make the rest jealous.

I do have a military version where the hoody part is modelled on a fortified bunker, similar to those built in particular by the Germans in a vain attempt to protect the coast lines of Northern Europe against invasion during the second world war.

Pay attention! I've been systematically doing that ever since googlefuck abandoned picasa. Will repost illustration on my tumblr page, just for you :-)

I knew somebody had been doing that, but couldn't remember who. Thanks. Now that I can see it, I want one!

How easy would it be to add a second set of tent flaps that are transparent but still mostly airtight (or even to make the whole tent out of transparent material)? I want to be able to surround my head in clean filtered air when I walk through a painfully dusty/smelly place, and when the forest fire smoke gets bad.

Shouldn't it be in Lincoln green?
pertinax, May 02 2018

But it is that exact colour? I'm confused now.
xenzag, May 02 2018

OK ... it looks blue to me, in the link. But that's OK. It's time I was in bed, anyway.
